NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame men’s and women’s track teams will split up by specialty this weekend as the Fighting Irish will compete at both the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia, and at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Irish sprinters and field athletes will compete Friday and Saturday at the George C. Griffin Track at Georgia Tech, while distance and multi-event athletes will head to Lannigan Field at the University of Virginia.

Action at the Georgia Tech Invitational will begin with field events at noon EDT on Friday, while running events will commence at 5:30 p.m. EDT. The meet will continue at 11 a.m. EDT on Saturday with field events, and running events beginning at 1 p.m. EDT.

Field events and non-marquee events at the Virginia Challenge will kick off at 10 a.m. EDT on Friday, with the main event commencing at 6:40 p.m. EDT. Action will pick back up at 9 a.m. EDT on Saturday and the main event beginning at 6:55 p.m. EDT.

Notre Dame’s top athletes will be back in action this weekend after enjoying an off weekend as the rest of the Irish competed in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge last Saturday. Margaret Bamgbose (400 meters, 4×100 relay, 4×00 relay) and Jade Barber (100-meter hurdles, 4×100 relay) will look to improve their national times at Georgia Tech, while Danielle Aragon (800, 1,500 meters) and Molly Seidel (1,500 meters) look to establish themselves in events other than their main strengths at Virginia.

On the men’s side, Chris Giesting (400 meters, 4×100 relay, 4×400 relay) will be back in action at Georgia Tech, while Timothy Ball (5,000 meters), Michael Clevenger (1,500 meters), Jake Kildoo (5,000 meters) and Jacob Dumford (1,500 meters) will pick back up at Virginia.

Live results for each meet will be available through the links at the top of the story. To keep up with Irish track & field, follow @NDXCTF on Twitter and like Notre Dame Cross Country/Track & Field on Facebook.
