LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Irish got off to a hot start at the Louisville Invitiatonal this weekend with two personal bests, a school record and two program all-time top-ten performances.

Rachel Tanczos set a school record ten years in the making as she threw for 61.96m in the hammer throw and second overall.

Abbey Kapitan also competed in the event, throwing for 50.21m and a new personal best. Her throw was the eighth best in recorded program history.

The women, along with other members of the Irish combined squad are back in the field and on the track tomorrow for the remainder of events. The meet is set the begin at 10:30 a.m. with the women’s javelin.
