Three Irish in Top-16 at Timuquana Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Notre Dame men’s golf team has three golfers in the top-16 heading into the final round of the Timuquana Collegiate. Between six combined rounds from Davis Chatfield, Tucker Clark and Palmer Jackson, not a single one was over-par. 

Chatfield leads the Irish in 14th place at four-under par, firing off rounds of 69 and 71. Both Clark and Jackson are tied for 16th place at three-under. Clark carded a 72 and 69, while Jackson tallied a 70 and 71. 

As a team, Notre Dame is tied for sixth place at 8-under par, posting a 285 and 283.  

 

ROUND ONE

Chatfield posted the lowest round one score with a 69, three-under par. The senior posted a 35 on the front, then a clean-sheet 34 on the back. Jackson recorded a stretch of birdie, birdie, bogey, birdie on the front before finishing with a 70. Clark had a bogey-free front-nine before finishing with a 72. 

Taichi Kho and individual competitors Angelo Marcon and Stewart Slayden all earned a first round 74. Lastly, Andrew O’Leary entered the clubhouse with a 75. 

ROUND TWO

Chatfield countered all four of his bogeys in round two with five birdies to card a 71. Jackson didn’t suffer a bogey until hole 13, before finishing with a 71 as well. 

Clark recorded birdies on holes one, four and 16 and went bogey-free in round two. His 69, three-under par was the best in round two and jumped the freshman into 16th. 

Kho battled back from bogeys on holes one and three with birdies on six, seven and 11. Kho ultimately finished with a 72 and sits in 48th place with a 146. 

O’Leary is in 66th place with a 150 (75, 75). Marcon in 68th place with a 151 (74, 77). Finally, Slayden is in 72nd with a 155 (74, 81).
