NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Victoria Brisack has joined the Irish staff as a volunteer assistant coach while Alex Carr has been named the program’s new director of operations, head coach Mike Johnson announced on Thursday (August 5).

In hiring, I have always prioritized those who are incredibly hard working, willing to do what it takes, and happy to put the players first. We have found high character people in Victoria and Alex and I’m looking forward to pursuing a National Championship together.”
ABOUT BRISACK
Brisack spent the last year as the recruiting director and setting director for the top ranked youth volleyball club in Illinois, 1st Alliance/Lions Juniors. In that role, Brisack was responsible for building a recruiting program for all prospective student-athletes and managing the communication between youth athletes, club coaches, and collegiate coaches. She also led the training and development of all high school-aged setters. Prior to 1st Alliance, Brisack was a volunteer coach at Marquette University and a club coach and setting director for Sting United Madison Volleyball Club in Madison, Wisconsin.
Brisack graduated from Indiana University in 2019, where she was a four-year starting setter and Academic All-Big Ten honoree. She ended her career in the top-10 all-time in Hoosiers history in career assists. As a youth athlete, Brisack competed in the USAV A1 program, as well as on her region’s High Performance teams. Brisack’s Milwaukee Sting club team was the top ranked team in the country in 2013-2014, and she led her high school team to the state semifinals in 2015 — the best finish in program history.
ABOUT CARR
Carr spent the past four years working with the University of Iowa’s volleyball program as a practice player and student manager. Carr has a wide array of responsibilities in his role, including coding and analyzing practice and matches and assisting the director of operations with day-to-day execution of team programming.
A graduate of the University of Iowa in 2021, Carr’s playing career included a pair of All-State selections at Wheaton Warrenville South High School in Wheaton, Illinois. His squad was the runner-up at the 2016 USAV 18 Open National Championships.
The Irish open the 2021 season on the weekend of August 27-28 when they host the Shamrock Invitational alongside Western Kentucky, Oakland and Loyola-Chicago. For the complete 2021 schedule, click here.
