Jenna Brown is Irish

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Jenna Brown – a 2021 NCAA Champion, two-time Pac-12 champion and three-time Pac-12 Tournament champion – will be donning an Irish uniform for the 2022-23 season. A 5-10 guard from Atlanta, Georgia, Brown brings a valued skillset and high IQ to South Bend, continuing the recent Notre Dame – Stanford pipeline trend that dates back to Lilli Thompson in the 2017-18 season.

Jenna brings a strong work ethic and motor along with an incredible skill set and high IQ. She is a perfect addition to our strong core and I’m looking forward to working with her and mentoring her.”

Brown saw limited time on the court over her first two seasons where she shot 35.1 percent from the field. She averaged 2.0 points and 1.0 assists in just 7.4 minutes as a sophomore; however, the injury bug struck that year, as she missed the last seven games of the season. 

Injuries then continued to plague Brown as she took a medical redshirt (knee surgery) for her junior year (2020-21), and in her redshirt junior year (2021-22) she did not see any game action as she was still not fully recovered. 

Brown will be graduating from Stanford with a degree in Political Science.

Pre-Stanford, Brown found success on the international stage, leading the United States to gold at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Mexico City in 2018. She averaged 7.5 points and 2.8 assists in the tournament. 

In addition, Brown attended The Lovett School in Atlanta where she departed as the school’s all-time leading scorer, amassing 1,703 points. She was a 2018 McDonald’s All-American, Jordan Brand Classic Invitee, Naismith First Team All-American and the National High School Coaches Association Senior Girls’ Basketball Athlete of the Year.
