Dick Corbett Head Football Coach Marcus Freeman announced the addition of 24 student-athletes to national letters of intent on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, his first full recruiting class as the leader of the Fighting Irish program.
A group that will be ranked among the nation’s best once the day is finished, Notre Dame signed 21 four-star student-athletes in the 24-player class which is the most dating back to when star data is reliably available starting in 2002.
The 3.875 star average the group accumulated is the second-highest since 2002 (3.913 in 2013) and the program has signed 38 four-star student-athletes the past two recruiting classes – which is the most over a two-year stretch since the program inked 33 in 2013 and 2014.
It is the first time in program history the team signed top-300 players at every position, the group boasts a core grade point average of 3.46 and four of the signees come out of the state of Texas (the most in 20 years of signing classes).
