Notre Dame great Jackie Young can add another bullet point to an extensive basketball resume.
On Thursday, the current Las Vegas Aces guard was one of 12 women named to the 2026 USA Basketball Women's National Team. The group will compete in the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup in Berlin from Sept. 4-13.
This is Young's first appointment to a World Cup team, although she is a two-time Olympic gold medalist with Team USA. She is one of seven American players named to this year's World Cup who also won a gold medal in the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
Young is currently in her seventh year of WNBA play after being the No. 1 overall selection in the 2019 WNBA Draft. The combo guard is coming off her fifth consecutive (and overall) WNBA All-Star Game selection and is averaging 18.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game this season.
