SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Junior cornerback Leonard Moore has been selected to the tenth annual Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List, which recognizes those with a record of leadership by exhibiting exceptional courage, integrity and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
Moore leads initiatives to combat chronic absenteeism and inspire student success through mentorship and accountability with Tackle Attendance South Bend, a community-driven initiative founded by Moore. Focused on creating a culture of accountability and encouragement, the program unites schools, families, and local partners to provide mentorship, resources, and innovative engagement tools. Tackle Attendance is dedicated to helping students stay engaged, build positive habits, and reach their full potential.
Moore also volunteers for the Black Student Athlete Summit, something he has participated in annually since 2015. He also partners with NDAQ Academie, where he completely funded a new, regulation size basketball court in Dakar, Senegal this past June to expand access opportunities and build a resource that can serve the community for years to come.
An unanimous All-American last season, Moore posted five solo tackles and a pass breakup during Notre Dame’s 41-13 season opening win over Wisconsin at Lambeau Field. He’s also on the 2026 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List and is a nominee for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
Twenty semifinalists will be selected by a subset of the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Selection Committee and announced on Tues., October 13. Three finalists will then be named for the award on Monday, December 14. The winner will be announced at the award ceremony will take place in Spring of 2027. Offensive lineman Aamil Wagner was named a finalist for the 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year.
