SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame football program has announced a two-game series in 2032 and 2033 with the University of Nebraska.
In the first game of the two-game series, the Irish will play in Lincoln, Neb., on October 30, 2032. The return trip will see Notre Dame host Nebraska on October 29, 2033.
The Irish have upcoming series planned with contenders in each of the Power-4 conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC), including but not limited to Alabama (2029, 2030), Auburn (2027, 2028), BYU (2026, 2027), Clemson (12-game series beginning in 2027), Louisville (2030), Miami (2026, 2028), Southern Cal (2030), SMU (2026), and Texas (2028, 2029) by the 2030 season.
Notre Dame is 7-8-1 all-time against Nebraska with a 3-1 record in home contests against the Cornhuskers. The 2033 matchup will be the first time Notre Dame and Nebraska will compete on the gridiron since 2001. The two teams played each other in back-to-back seasons in 2000 and 2001. Prior to those meetings, the Irish and Huskers had not met since the 1972 Orange Bowl.
Both teams have been ranked in the last three meetings between the two programs. Notre Dame and Nebraska played each other 11 consecutive seasons from 1915-1925. Over that span, the series record was even at 5-5-1.
