SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Ahead of the 2026-27 season, Notre Dame swimming and diving has announced eight captains for the year. There are four on the women's side and four on the men's side, and five of the captains are juniors.
Carli Cronk — Junior // San Antonio, Texas
A two-time NCAA qualifier and 200 butterfly All-American, Cronk also holds eight school records, including three individual short course marks (200 butterfly, 500 freestyle and 400 IM). She was last year's team MVP and has earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team in each of her first two seasons while majoring in business analytics.
Emily Kitayama — Junior // San Antonio, Texas
A fellow Texan, Kitayama specializes in breaststroke and butterfly and was also a captain as a sophomore last season. Kitayama is a two-time member of the All-ACC Academic Team and is majoring in economics and psychology.
Julieta Tracy — Senior // Chicago, Ill.
Like Kitayama, Tracy was a captain last season as well. A regional product, she participated in her second ACC Championships last year and is a two-time member of the All-ACC Academic Team. Tracy is majoring in strategic management.
Hollie Widdows — Junior // Tavistock, England
Widdows qualified for NCAA Championships last year and led off the 400 freestyle relay. She holds the school record in the 100 freestyle and three relays, is a two-time member of the All-ACC Academic Team, and is majoring in neuroscience and behavior.
Jeremy Kelly — Junior // Georgetown, Texas
In his second year with the team — Kelly transferred to Notre Dame after spending freshman year at Texas — Kelly is a junior captain. He holds the school record in the 200 IM and ranks in the top 10 in program history in three other events. A winner of last season's Knute Rockne Scholar-Athlete Award and 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team member, Kelly is majoring in computer science.
Daniel Knapp — Fifth Year // Mesa, Ari.
A 3-meter All-American, Knapp returns to the Irish this season. One of the most decorated Irish divers in recent history, Knapp was the team MVP last season and earned the Weight Room Warrior honor as well. He is a three-time NCAA qualifier. Knapp earned an undergraduate degree in psychology.
Charlie Mayr — Junior // Richmond, Va.
A distance specialist, Mayr swam three events at 2026 ACC Championships and was a member of the All-ACC Academic Team. He posted three top-five finishes at the Tim Welsh Classic in January. Mayr is majoring in finance.
Marcus Reyes-Gentry — Fifth Year // Central Point, Ore.
Reyes-Gentry is coming off of a historic summer with the Mexican National Team where he won four gold medals and broke four meet records at the Caribbean Games. The West Coast native holds school records in the 50 and 100 backstroke and was a First-Team All-American in the 100 backstroke last year. After earning an undergraduate degree in finance from the Mendoza School of Business in May, Reyes-Gentry is pursuing a master's degree in digital marketing.
