Game Notes
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Notre Dame volleyball team returns to Purcell Pavilion after 19 days on the road to host Eastern Illinois for the first time in program history. The Irish and Panthers will meet twice this weekend in a rare home-and-home series, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET at Purcell Pavilion on ACC Network Extra. Notre Dame will then travel to Eastern Illinois for a 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT match Sunday, streamed on ESPN+.
The Irish will host Rare Disease Night/Lymphoma Awareness during Friday’s match, featuring multiple recognitions throughout the night.
Maya Evens will look to continue her strong play to start her sophomore season. The San Diego, California native leads the team with 119 digs and her 4.10 digs per set rank fourth in the ACC. She was named to the Steve Baumrind Invitational All-Tournament team last weekend.
Maya Baker also is coming off a strong weekend in Charleston, where she totaled 114 assists (9.5 per set), including a career-best 48 against Duquesne and 39 versus Northern Kentucky, both the two-highest assisted games of her young career.
Notre Dame will look to lean on Mae Kordas more offensively. The sophomore outside hitter registered a career-high 18 kills against Duquesne before leading the team with 10 at College of Charleston last Sunday.
This weekend marks the final slate of non-conference matchups for the Irish, with ACC play beginning next weekend at Boston College and Syracuse.
