SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Notre Dame men’s basketball unveiled its full 2026-27 schedule on Thursday as the fourth season under Glenn & Stacey Murphy Head Coach Micah Shrewsberry draws nearer.

Two historic firsts will occur this upcoming season.

The first one fans already know - Notre Dame and Villanova will tip off the entire NCAA men’s college basketball season in Rome on November 1, airing live on FOX at 9:30 a.m. ET. It will mark the first regular-season game outside the United States in program history and believed to be the first game outside the United States to start a men’s college basketball season.

Secondly, the Irish will play a record nine straight home games, stretching from November 24 through January 6. That stretch includes the first two ACC matchups against Stanford and Virginia Tech. The longest home stretch before this season was seven (seven different occurrences with the last being the 2018-19 season).

ACC schedule

Notre Dame will play four of its first six ACC matchups at home, lending the Irish an opportunity to jump out to a great start. On the flip side of that, the Blue & Gold will have to tough it out with five of its last eight on the road.

Also, for the second straight year, Notre Dame will start the ACC schedule with Stanford and end with Boston College.

In addition, for the first time in two decades, Notre Dame and Louisville will not play during the 2026-27 campaign. This year’s home and home is with Boston College and Wake Forest.
