CHARLESTON, Ill. - For the second-straight match, the Notre Dame volleyball team swept Eastern Illinois, this time on the road, 25-13, 25-22, 30-28. The Irish improved to 3-6 on the year heading into conference play.
Notre Dame was dominant at the net, led by 10 blocks (1 solo) from Anna Bjork, tying her career high. The junior is up to a team-best 36 total blocks on the season.
On the day, Notre Dame posted 16.0 total team blocks, a season-best, in just three sets.
Mae Kordas led the Irish in kills yet again, posting 10 in three sets. It’s the fourth-straight game with double figure kills for the sophomore. She added six blocks and two service aces to her line.
Maya Evens posted 20 digs in three sets, her fourth career game with 20 or more digs. Evens came into the game fourth in the ACC in digs per set (4.10 entering the weekend). She’s up to 155 digs this season.
The setting duo of Lily Fenton and Maya Baker combined for 29 assists as the Irish totaled 40 kills, 16 of them in the third set.
After closing out non-conference play this weekend, Notre Dame opens up ACC play Friday, 25th at Boston College. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.
