SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Following back-to-back sweeps last weekend, the Notre Dame volleyball team begins conference play with a pair of road matches, taking on Boston College on Friday, September 25th at 1 p.m. before heading to Syracuse Sunday, September 27th at 1 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
The Irish closed out non-conference play last weekend against Eastern Illinois in a rare home-and-home series. It was the first time the two teams faced off in history.
Friday marks the 30th meeting all-time between Notre Dame and Boston College. The Irish lead the series 24-5 overall and have won 11 of the last 12 matchups.
Notre Dame holds a 30-11 record over Syracuse. The 30 wins are the most against a single opponent in program history. The Irish will look to win their first game in Syracuse since 2022.
Maya Evens continues to build off a strong start to her sophomore season. Her 4.43 digs per set are ranked second in the ACC this season. In the win Sunday over the Panthers, Evens totaled 20 digs in just three sets, the most by a player in the conference in a three set match this season.
Defensively, the Irish were strong at the net against Eastern Illinois. They recorded a season-high 16 blocks in the sweep on Sunday, led by Anna Bjork’s 10, which tied her career high.
Last season, Notre Dame posted nine wins in ACC play under head coach Salima Rockwell last season, the best since she took over in 2022.
