SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Junior running back Aneyas Williams was named to the Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll following his all-purpose performance in a 41-13 Irish win over Wisconsin Sunday night at Lambeau Field, the Louisville Sports Commission announced.
A native of Hannibal, Missouri, Williams tallied 143 all-purpose yards against the Badgers. He recorded a career-high 90 rushing yards to go along with 42 kick return yards and 11 yards on one reception. He also rushed for a pair of touchdowns, both in the second half, to extend Notre Dame’s lead.
Named after the former Notre Dame Heisman Trophy winner, The Paul Hornung Award is presented annually to the most versatile player in major college football. Fans can vote for Aneyas HERE.
Williams and the Irish return home Saturday for their season opener at Notre Dame Stadium, hosting the Rice Owls at 3:30 p.m. on NBC.
