MADISON, Wisc. — Notre Dame swimming and diving will open its 2026-27 season on Saturday, as the Irish head to Wisconsin for a dual meet against the Badgers.
The meet will begin at 1 p.m. ET and features a pair of ranked Wisconsin teams; the men are No. 22 in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) poll, while the women sit at No. 14. The Irish men sit just outside of the Top 25 in the receiving votes category.
After a successful first season under Peterson Family Head Swimming and Diving Coach Michael Norment last year, Notre Dame returns several key student-athletes for 2026-27.
On the men's side, All-Americans Tommy Janton, Daniel Knapp and Marcus Reyes-Gentry are back for a fifth season. Reyes-Gentry had a particularly impressive summer competing for Mexico at the Central American and Caribbean games. He broke the meet records in the 50M backstroke, 100M backstroke and two relays, and he will look to make NCAA Championships this season for the third time.
The women's side is led by junior Carli Cronk and features an exciting young core of sophomores with NCAA Championships experience. Cronk, an All-American, school record holder and 19-time Deaflympics gold medalist, returns this year looking to best her 200 butterfly performance at NCAA Championships last year where she finished 10th.
