NOTRE DAME, In. – Charley Niego earned All-ACC honors for the 2021 season as she was named Second Team All-ACC, announced by the conference Monday afternoon (November 29). This marks Niego’s fourth consecutive ACC honor in her career.
ABOUT NIEGO
In her senior year (2021-22), Niego tallied 272 kills and 264 digs in 90 sets during the regular season. She finished the season with 11 double-doubles and 48 in her career, which stands third-most in program history. Niego’s season performance included six matches racking up 15 or more kills. The Chicago, Illinois, native had season high with 23 digs against Florida State (Sept. 24), and 19 kills against Oakland (Aug. 28), and leads the team with 27 service aces.
Niego previously earned First Team All-ACC in 2020 and 2019, as well as a Second Team All-ACC honor in 2018.
The Irish concluded their season on Friday, November 26 at Louisville. They finished 13-15 overall and 10-8 in conference play.
