SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) – Ruth Riley had 16 points, seven blocks and six rebounds to lead ninth-ranked Notre Dame over Seton Hall 87-47 Wednesday night.
Danielle Green scored 15 points and Sheila McMillen added 13 for the Irish (14-2, 6-2 Big East), who have won five straight and are off to the best start in school history.
Arminda Moreno and Erika Ashmon each scored nine points for Seton Hall (5-12, 2-7), which has lost three in a row and six of its last seven.
Riley scored seven points during a 9-0 run that gave Notre Dame a 13-3 lead. Seton Hall cut the margin to 17-10 on a pair of free throws by Yolanda Rouse, but Notre Dame then scored 15 straight points to break the game open.
The Irish opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take a 60-27 lead.
Riley, who leads the Big East in rebounding and blocks, played only eight minutes in the second half.
