Evanston, Ill. – The Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team played two entirely different games on Sunday afternoon when they faced the defending national champion Northwestern Wildcats.
For 30 minutes, the Irish played the Wildcats step for step, leading by four goals twice in the opening half with 6-2 and 8-4 leads as senior Crysti Foote (Suffern, N.Y.) continued her impressive season with four goals. Northwestern found its legs late in the half, scoring four of the final five goals as Notre Dame took a 9-8 lead into halftime.
