DETROIT — No. 18 Notre Dame (3-0) and No. 14 Michigan (2-0) are set to renew a rivalry on Saturday, as the ranked foes will square off in Detroit for the 2025 Shamrock Classic. Saturday’s game will air on NBC at 4 p.m. LaChina Robinson, Zora Stephenson and Isis Young will have the call from Wayne State Fieldhouse.

NOTES

  • Wednesday night’s victory was a special one for Irish guard Hannah Hidalgo. The junior scored 44 points and notched 16 steals. The former is a program record previously held by Ruth Riley and Jewell Loyd, while the latter is an NCAA Division I record.
  • Notre Dame had 30 steals against Akron, the second most in program history.
  • The Irish have scored 299 points this year, tied for the most through three games in school history (2024-25).
  • Notre Dame has started the season with three straight wins for the fourth time in five years.
  • Notre Dame returns 33.6 percent of its scoring from last season.
  • Like Notre Dame, Michigan has a potent offense with numerous capable scorers. Wolverine sophomores Mila Holloway, Olivia Olson and Syla Swords are averaging 19.0, 18.0 and 11.5 points per game, respectively, this season in wins over Canisius and Harvard.
  • The Irish are 14-8 all-time against Michigan and have played once before at a neutral site in 2001.
  • The Irish and the Wolverines have already played this calendar year, as Notre Dame eliminated Michigan in the Round of 32 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The Irish hosted at Purcell Pavilion and left with a 76-55 win.
