GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) – Alayne Ingram scored 22 points and LeeAnn Bies added 18 as No. 16 Michigan beat No. 23 Notre Dame 78-63 Sunday.
Tabitha Pool added 13 points and Jennifer Smith scored 12 for the Wolverines (5-1), who shot 68 percent in the first half to take a 45-27 halftime lead.
The defending national champion Fighting Irish (2-3) have lost three of four games.
The Wolverines opened up a two-point game with a 15-2 run midway through the first half. An 8-0 run later in the half gave Michigan a 38-19 lead 16 minutes into the game.
Alicia Ratay scored 19 points to lead Notre Dame and Jacqueline Batteast added 17.
