SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Alicia Ratay scored 28 points as No. 5 Notre Dame routed St. John’s 94-51 on Saturday night, extending the Irish’s winning streak to 18 games.
Ruth Riley added 19 points for Notre Dame (21-2, 12-0 Big East) in the Irish’s most lopsided victory of the season. Latasha Thompson led St. John’s (8-14, 3-9) with 17 points.
Notre Dame used a 33-4 burst midway through the first half to take a 42-12 lead.
Riley, who did not start for the first time in 79 games, scored all 15 of her first-half points during the run, which was capped by Ratay’s two straight 3-pointers. Ratay ended the first half with 15 points, too, as Notre Dame led 48-24.
Ratay scored eight points in the first six minutes of the second half to help boost Notre Dame’s edge to 68-31.
A crowd of 7,530 attended the game, the second-largest crowd in school history.
