SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Niele Ivey scored 15 points and added 11 assists as No. 6 Notre Dame pulled away at the start of the second half and routed Seton Hall 77-49 Saturday for its 10th straight win.
Both teams struggled at the start, and Notre Dame surged ahead when Ericka Haney, a Notre Dame reserve freshman guard, outscored Seton Hall 8-2 during a spurt. She finished with 14 points.
The Irish (19-2, 12-2 Big East) then started to shut down Seton Hall (5-17, 2-12), allowing only six points – all on free throws – during a seven-minute span in the first half.
Notre Dame, hampered by fouls and turnovers, led by just 33-27 at halftime, then opened the second with an 18-2 run, sparked by five points from Ivey.
Naimah Smith led the Pirates with 11 points.
