Shearer ended the Hoyas six-goal streak with a goal off an assist from Loftus, and senior Kate Scarola’s (Windsor, Conn.) unassisted score with 12:02 remaining trimmed the lead to 6-3.
Elbe and Lozano netted back-to-back goals in the span of 19 seconds to push Georgetown’s lead to 8-3, but junior Eleanor Weille (Garden City, N.Y.) cut the lead to four with her lone tally of the game off an assist from Delano. Stanwick answered that Irish score with a goal 20 seconds later. Shearer finished off the first-half scoring for Notre Dame on a free position goal with 6:24 remaining.
