INDIANAPOLIS — The Notre Dame men’s soccer team closed out the 2000 campaign with a 0-0 double overtime tie at IUPUI. With the tie, the Irish end the season with an overall record of 7-8-2 after finishing with a 4-7 BIG EAST mark.
Notre Dame dominated the contest as it outshot IUPUI 28-8 in the contest, including a 12-1 advantage in the two overtime sessions. Jaguars’ goalie Armando Femia played all 120 minutes in goal and came up with 14 saves in the game. Irish goalkeeper Cole Straub made three saves. Notre Dame also owned an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The shutout was the sixth of the season, and second straight, for the Irish.
With the tie, IUPUI is 8-8-2 on the season.
