“What’s interesting about this meet schedule is that the team is faced with the assignment of having a hard week of practice, and then goes right into a meet,” Irish head coach Brian Barnes said. “We did that during fall break, and we did that last week. We have probably had the hardest week of practice this week, and the team is responding well. This team is getting tougher by the day and I hope to see them stand up to the challenge of Purdue on Saturday.”

The Irish (1-0) routed Pittsburgh, 223-77, last Friday. Amywren Miller anchored the 200 Medley Relay with Lauren Parisi, Maxwell and Colleen Fotsch to a win in 1:43.89, while also winning the 50 Free in 23.21 and 100 Free in 51.39. She also started the 400 Free Relay of with Delia Cronin, Amy Prestinario and Megan Farrell to a win in 3:29.13.

Maxwell, on top of the relay victory, took the 100 Breast (1:02.67), 200 Breast (2:16.42) and 200 IM (2:06.15).

Through two meets this season, Notre Dame has yet to drop an event in its home pool.
