Rachel Allen hits sixth homer of the season

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame softball team fell Monday evening to 5th-ranked Oregon in five innings, 10-1. The Irish are now 23-30-1 on the season.

Rachel Allen clubbed her sixth home run of the season, a line drive shot up and over the center field fence in the second inning. It was the senior’s 14th career home run.

The Ducks scored five in the first to jump on the Irish early. Four more runs in the third followed by another in the fourth ended up being too much to overcome.

Notre Dame will close out the regular season on Thursday, May 1st at 5:30 p.m. against Bowling Green at Melissa Cook Stadium. It’s a makeup game from April 9th when the game was postponed due to weather.
