CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — After downing Virginia Tech on Thursday in South Bend, Notre Dame (15-8, 7-5) heads back on the road this weekend to face Virginia (16-7, 8-4). The Irish and the Cavaliers will tip off on Sunday from John Paul Jones Arena at 2 p.m.
NOTES
- Notre Dame is coming off an 80-70 win over Virginia Tech on Thursday, snapping the Hokies’ seven-game win streak. After entering halftime down 30-36, the Irish outscored Virginia Tech 50-34 in the second half.
- All six players who played on Thursday scored in double figures — Hannah Hidalgo (16), Iyana Moore (14), Cassandre Prosper (14), Gisela Sanchez (14), KK Bransford (11) and Vanessa de Jesus (11). The Irish played without starting forward Malaya Cowles, who was out due to illness.
- The Irish outscored the Hokies 29-7 off turnovers, including a 21-2 showing in the second half.
- Hidalgo continues to lead the country in steals (5.6) and the ACC in scoring (24.9). She is the only player in the nation who ranks in the top 10 in scoring and either steals or blocks.
- Moore is pacing the ACC with 3.1 made triples per game in conference play. She is also shooting 47.4 percent from beyond the arc against the ACC.
- Notre Dame is 11-3 all-time against Virginia, including a 4-2 mark in Charlottesville.
