SOUTH BEND, Ind. — It’s a new era for Notre Dame swimming and diving, as Peterson Family Head Swimming and Diving Coach Michael Norment has taken over the Irish teams ahead of the 2025-26 season. On Friday, the programs released their schedule for the upcoming year.
The Irish will begin the season at home on Oct. 10 with a pair of Big Ten foes in Michigan and Wisconsin, and the pattern continues on Oct. 24 as Northwestern will come to town for the first time since January 2020.
Notre Dame’s first away contest of the season is Nov. 7 at Louisville. It is the sixth straight season the Irish and Cardinals have been scheduled to meet, although the 2021 contest was canceled due to COVID-19.
The Irish’s pre-Thanksgiving swim meet will be at Miami (OH) this year and will take place from Nov. 20-22. The Notre Dame women opened last season against the Redhawks in South Bend, winning the meet, 180-82. Those same dates, the divers will head to Austin for the Texas Diving Invite.
When the calendar turns to 2026, Notre Dame swimming will be on its annual training trip in Florida. On Jan. 3, the men’s team will aptly face Tampa at their place as well as compete against Minnesota. The women will face Miami (FL) in Coral Gables on the same day.
Winter break ends with another road trip for Notre Dame, as the Irish head to Kentucky to face the Wildcats and Purdue in a tri-meet. The three teams faced off last season in West Lafayette.
Notre Dame will host its annual Tim Welsh Invite from Jan. 23-24 to close out the regular season.
The Irish will end the year with three championship meets in Atlanta — ACC Championships (Feb. 15-21), NCAA Women’s Championships (March 17-21) and NCAA Men’s Championships (March 24-28). Qualifications for the diving portion of both NCAA Championship meets will be at the Zone C Diving Championships from March 9-14. The located will be announced at a later date.
