SOUTH BEND, Ind. – To begin the 2024 NCAA softball season, the University of Notre Dame is set to take part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Florida next weekend at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. As part of the event, the Fighting Irish will take on 2023 Women’s College World Series participant Utah Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1:00 p.m. and the matchup will be broadcasted live on MLB Network. It will be the first-ever NCAA softball game to be broadcasted live on MLB Network.
This is not the first time MLB Network will air college softball, having reaired the 2023 matchup of Oklahoma against UCLA in the Mary Nutter Classic, a day delayed. To watch the Irish and Utah on MLB Network, fans can visit www.mlbnetwork.com for their local channel listings.

Notre Dame enters the 2024 season having been picked fifth in the ACC’s preseason poll. The Irish have qualified for the NCAA postseason in 24-consecutive seasons, and 27 of the past 29 seasons.
