Notre Dame Totals 10 Victories At Indiana Relays

Bloomington, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s and women’s track and field teams earned four more victories at the Indiana Relays on Saturday at the Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington, Ind.

Jaclyn Winkel (Reno, Nev./Reno) had a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash. The freshman finished in 57.92 to beat out Nikita Owens of Vincennes University, who ran 58.30.

On the men’s side, Kevin Schipper (Leo, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) was victorious in the Pole Vault Invitational. The junior vaulted 5.20m to claim the crown. Additional, Jeremy Rae (Fort Erie, Ontario/Lakeshore Catholic) finished in first place in the 800-Meter Invitational, stopping the clock at 1:49.15.

Rounding out the Irish victories for the Irish, the men’s 3,200-meter relay secured first place after finishing in 7:32.81.

The Irish play host to the ever-competitive Meyo Invitational Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday Feb. 5. Friday’s action begins at 5:00 p.m. (ET) at the Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Ind.

200-Meter Dash – Sasha Blanchard finished 15th in 27.12.

60-Meter Hurdles Semifinals – Kali Watkins finished 13th in 9.13.

400-Meter Dash – Jaclyn Winkel captured first place in 57.92, followed by Sasha Blanchard in fifth place (59.31).

Shot Put Invitational – Rudy Atang threw 15.10m to finish in third place.

400-Meter Dash Invitational – Michelle Brown ran for a fifth-place finish in 56.88.

High Jump – Kendra Jennings finished sixth, jumping 1.68m.

800-Meter Run – Abby Higgins finished in second place in 2:12.88, followed by Allison Schroeder in fifth place in 2:13.35. McKinzie Schulz finished seventh place (2:14.89), followed by Kelly Langhans in ninth place (2:15.29) and Angela Ryck in 10th place (2:16.34).

3, 200-Meter Relay – Notre Dame (Aragon, Ryan, Curran, Johnson) finished in second place in 9:00.04.

1,600-Meter Relay – Notre Dame “A” (Winkel, Brown, Blanchard, Schulz) ran for seventh place in 3:50.83.

Long Jump Invitational – Jasmine Williams had a fifth-place finish, jumping 5.56m.

60-Meter Hurdles Semifinals – Jarrod Buchanon finished in seventh place in 8.43 to qualify for the finals.

Pole Vault Invitational – Kevin Schipper placed first (5.20m), followed by Andrew Kolbeck in fourth place (4.60m).

60-Meter Hurdles Finals – Jarrod Buchanon had a sixth-place finish in 8.35.

400-Meter Dash – Brendan Dougherty finished in second place (49.87), while Matthew Brown finished in seventh place in 50.65.

Shot Put – Denes Veres had a third-place finish (17.36m).

400-Meter Dash Invitational – Patrick Feeney finished in fifth place (48.67), followed by Edward Hitchler in sixth place (49.00).

800-Meter Run Invitational – Jeremy Rae captured first place in 1:49.15.

3, 200-Meter Relay – Notre Dame “B” (Suriano, Labus, Carter, Gamboa) finished in first place in 7:32.81, followed by Notre Dame “A” (Howard, Malette, Carlson, Lorenz) in second place in 7:33.46.
