ANN ARBOR, Mich.–The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team stands in 10th place after soggy and rain-shortened first-round action Saturday at the Wolverine Invitational, held at the University of Michigan golf course.

Notre Dame totaled a 348 in the play-six/count-four format and stands 10th among the 13-team field, with Michigan State (316), Northwestern (321) and Purdue (328) holding down the top three spots.
Notre Dame junior Andrea Klee stands three shots out of 10th place after an opening-round 83, while classmate, Beth Cooper, and sophomore Shane Smith fired first-round 88s. Sophomore Mary Klein (89), freshman Kristin McMurtrie (90) and junior Brigid Fisher (90) round out the Irish contingent, while sophomore Becca Schloss fired an 87 as an individual entrant.
