BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s golf team stands in 11th place out of 13 teams at the Indiana Invitational, following two rounds of play Saturday at the par-74, 6,134-yard Indiana University Golf Course.
Notre Dame-playing for the first time in four weeks-heads into Sunday’s final round just three shots behind Illinois State and within range of Southern Illinois (10 strokes) and Michigan (12). The Irish posted a first-round 339 before improving by seven strokes for a 332 in the afternoon round.
Sophomore Mary Klein is tied for 16th in the 70-player field, after solid rounds of 79 and 80 in Saturday’s action. Junior captain Andrea Klee posted a first-round 85 before improving to an 82 in the afternoon. Juniors Beth Cooper (89-84) and Brigid Fisher (88-86) and sophomore Shane Smith (87-88) round out the Irish contingent.
