Notre Dame Women Topple Miami, 162.5-137.5

The Irish won eight events on the afternoon

MIAMI — While in Florida for the annual post-Christmas training trip, the Notre Dame women’s swimming and diving program earned a victory over ACC foe Miami on Saturday, 162.5-137.5. The Irish won eight events on the afternoon.

Carli Cronk earned the first individual win of the day with a victory in the 200 free (1:47.99) and closed out the individual events with a 2:02.37 win in the 200 IM. She has won five individual events this season across four meets.

Gigi Baldacci won the 100 breast (1:05.58), while junior Julieta Tracy won the 200 breast (2:16.64). The victories are the first of the year for the graduate and junior, respectively.

Notre Dame also swept the sprint free events, as sophomore Hollie Widdows earned the win in the 50 (23.18), while freshman Becky Rentz touched first in the 100 (50.60).

Finally, Lainey Mullins won the 500 free (4:51.57).

The Irish closed the meet with a first place finish in the 400 free relay thanks to Widdows, Kate Simon, Rentz and Emily Hamill.

Notre Dame will head to Lexington next to face off against Kentucky and Purdue in a tri-meet on Jan. 9.
