Notre Dame Notes:

  • Notre Dame improves to 48-20 (.706) all-time in NCAA Championship play. The Irish are now 13-5 in NCAA Championship second-round games and have won all six at home.
  • Notre Dame’s all-time record is now 860-319 (.729). The Irish are 33-2 on the season.
  • Tonight’s contest was the 41st meeting between the Irish and the Blue Demons. The Irish now lead the all-time series 22-19 (.537). Notre Dame improves to 12-6 (.667) all-time against DePaul in Purcell Pavilion.
  • The current Notre Dame senior class has recorded 140 wins during their tenure at Notre Dame. That is the most wins all-time by any one class in Notre Dame history.
  • The starting line-up of Taya Reimer, Lindsay Turner, Brianna Turner, Jewell Loyd and Michaela Mabrey is now 28-0 on the season.
  • Notre Dame has collected 200 wins since the start of 2009-10 season, the second highest total of any school in the country.
  • Brianna Turner blocked three shots for Notre Dame in the contest, increasing her season total to 81 blocks. Her 81 blocks are the fifth most all-time for any Irish player in a season and second most all-time for any Irish freshman in a season.
  • Junior Michaela Mabrey tallied five 3-pointers in the second-round NCAA tournament contest as a part of her 19-point performance, which is just one point off her career high. The performance marked her 30th career double-figure point total performance.
  • Jewell Loyd scored 10 points in the game against DePaul, moving her into second place in Notre Dame history for most points in a single season (704 points). She is just the second Irish player to score at least 700 points in a single season in Notre Dame history. Katryna Gaither scored 776 points during the 1996-97 campaign, which stands as the program record for a single season.
  • Freshman Brianna Turner (14 points, 11 rebounds) and sophomore Taya Reimer (14 points, 10 rebounds) recorded their eighth and fifth career double-doubles, respectively, in the game against DePaul. The last time Notre Dame had at least two players record a double-double was earlier this season when they played the Blue Demons on December 10, 2014. Jewell Loyd, Madison Cable and Taya Reimer all recorded a double-double in that game.
  • DePaul entered the game with the second highest scoring offense in the country (86.6 points per game). Notre Dame limited DePaul to 67 points in the contest.

DePaul Notes:

  • The Blue Demons hit 10 3-point field goals in the game against the Irish. DePaul knocked down a school record 364 three pointers this season. DePaul has now hit a 3-pointer in 196 straight contests.
  • Junior Megan Podkowa scored in double figures for the 27th time this season as she totaled 19 points against Notre Dame. She also grabbed 11 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.
  • Brittany Hrynko, who holds the school’s record for career assists, dished out four assists against the Irish to increase her career assist total to 680 assists.
  • DePaul fell to 13-20 (.394) all-time in NCAA Championship play, including 10-13 (.435) in its last 13 tournament appearances.
  • DePaul’s eight-game winning streak was snapped with the loss. The Blue Demons had won 14 of its last 15 games entering tonight’s matchup.
  • DePaul fell to 0-4 all-time against #1 seeds in the NCAA tournament.
