Nowlin Named Senior Associate Athletics Director For Business Innovation And Revenue Generation

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Patrick Nowlin has been named the University of Notre Dame’s Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business Innovation and Revenue Generation. Nowlin joins the Fighting Irish after spending the last six years at the University of Oklahoma, most recently as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Fan Engagement.

He has continuously demonstrated success over the years. He is the right person to help lead our business innovation and revenue generation efforts here at Notre Dame.”

While at Oklahoma, Nowlin had direct oversight of multimedia rights, licensing, data analytics, marketing, ticketing and fan engagement. 

Nowlin also oversaw the rowing program and tennis center and he served as a Student-Athlete Development Program Advisor while liaising with Learfield (MMR), Tailgate Guys, Learfield IMG Seating and Ticket Solutions, Revel XP, Tableau, SSB, Stubhub, Paciolan, Salesforce, Mogo and Sidearm. 

From a Fan Engagement perspective, Nowlin developed marketing and sales plans leading to $13M in new donor revenue and 5,500 new season tickets in 2021. Relying on improved use of analytics to communicate with fans, he directed a digital marketing plan in 2021 that led to 1.2M in new revenue and 2.38M impressions.

In terms of revenue generation, Nowlin produced a record-high 45 million dollars in football ticket sales and 33 million dollars in annual fund donations during the 2021 year. He also consolidated the secondary ticket market in 2021 and generated 1.4 million dollars in additional revenue.

While with the Sooners, Nowlin also held the titles of Assistant Athletic Director of Ticketing (2016-18) and Associate Athletic Director Revenue Generation (2018-21).

Prior to Oklahoma, Nowlin held positions as IMG Learfield’s General Manager of Ticket Sales and Service for Oklahoma (2013-14), IMG Learfield Senior Account Executive at Auburn (2012-13) and as an Account Executive for the Nashville Predators (2011-12). 

Nowlin earned a M.S. in Sport Management and a B.S. in Science (Recreational Administration emphasis) from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
