2018 Blue-Gold Game Final Stats

NOTRE DAME, Indiana – Brandon Wimbush went 19-for-33 for 341 yards and two touchdowns and Drue Tranquill led the team with nine tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss as the Irish offense prevailed 47-44 over the defense in the 89th annual Blue-Gold Game at Notre Dame Stadium (31,729).

Ian Book (Blue) connected with Chase Claypool on an 85-yard touchdown to open the scoring for the offense (10:45 of the first quarter). The Gold team collected three sacks in the first quarter — from Adetokunbo Ogundeji, Drue Tranquill andMyron Tagovailoa-Amosa. Jalen Elliott (Gold) snagged an interception and returned it 21 yards at the 10:55 mark of the second. Miles Boykin (Blue) grabbed a 64-yard pass from Brandon Wimbush, hauling in the reception in coverage at the 20 and maintaining his footing in the final 15 yards of his run to open a 30-19 lead for the offense (10:21 of second quarter). Dexter Williams (Blue) rattled off a 72-yard run to the Gold 6 to open the third quarter and set up a six-yard touchdown catch by Claypool (from Wimbush).

• Chase Claypool led the Irish receiving corps with 151 yards with two touchdowns on a game-high six catches.
• Miles Boykin tallied 132 yards on three catches with a touchdown.
