Sept. 26, 2003

Practice and workouts continue to go well for the team. We had an open practice last Saturday in the Joyce Center Arena – it was our first practice since September 5. It went well and there were many Irish fans in attendance throughout the hour and a half that we practiced and scrimmaged. I want to thank everyone who came out and we look forward to seeing all of our basketball fans at the Joyce Center this season. The team was really excited about the attendance and the support that everyone has showed us.

Everyone continues to look forward to the upcoming season. We’re working hard in the weight room and with the coaches during our individual workouts.

The weather has changed the last couple of days and certainly fall is here. It’s been a bit chilly lately and I’ve had to wear a sweater. I’m still getting used to the cold weather and working out building my winter wardrobe. I had never seen snow until last year – and it was the first time that I had ever owned a pair of boots!

The change in weather has everyone looking forward to Barbados. It’s hard to believe that in three weeks we will be there. Everyone on the team is anxious for the trip, but we can’t get too excited because we still have a lot of schoolwork to finish up on and midterm exams to take before we leave. This time of the year can be kind of stressful, but I’m sure the sun and crystal blue water is going to be very welcomed by everyone on the team.

We’re scheduled to have our next practice again on Oct. 7, so for the next couple of weeks, we’re just going to continue to work on our conditioning and play pick-up games.

Again, thanks for your continued interest and support in our program and GO IRISH!!!!!
