LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Irish women’s golf team will have to wait until Sunday to continue play at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational, as Saturday’s second round was cancelled due to inclement weather. The tournament has been shortened to 36 holes, with Sunday’s 18-holes of play serving as the final round.
Notre Dame carded a 16-over par 304 on Friday in first round action at the University of Kentucky hosted tournament. Senior Annie Brophy (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) led the Irish with a plus two 74. She is currently tied for fifth on the leaderboard. Junior So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Prep) is tied for 13th after turning in a plus-three 75 in the first round.
Sunday’s final round is expected to get underway at 8:30 a.m. A recap will be posted on UND.com, while live hole-by-hole scoring of the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational is available through Golfstat (to access the site go to http://www.golfstatresults.com).
