Possick Tabbed ACC Women's Fencer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Notre Dame sophomore Lola Possick was tabbed ACC Women’s Fencer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday morning. Possick posted an 11-4 overall record in sabre this past weekend at the St. John’s Super Cup.

It’s the first career conference accolade for the Weehawken, New Jersey native. Possick helped the second-ranked Irish to four ranked win in Jamaica, New York last Saturday, which included two top-five wins (#1 Columbia and #4 Harvard).

Possick was 3-0 against Ohio State and then posted 2-1 records against Princeton, Harvard, St. John’s and Columbia. Her 11 wins were a team-high on the day on the women’s side.

Notre Dame returns to the strips this weekend to host the Michael DeCicco Duals on Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th at the Castellan Family Fencing Center inside the North Dome at the Joyce Center. Competition begins Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
