- This was the second meeting between Notre Dame and California. With the victory the Irish now lead the series, 2-0. The first and only meeting took place on March 18, 2007 in the first round of the NCAA Championship. The Irish were victorious, 62-59.

California
- With the loss, the Golden Bears finish the season at 25-10 and California falls to 5-8 in NCAA Championship play, while head coach Lindsay Gottlieb’s record in the NCAA Championship drops to 1-2.
- The tie score, 31-31, at halftime was the 11th time that the Golden Bears were not winning at the break. California is 4-7 in such games.
Gennifer Brandon (So./F)
- Pulled down double-digit rebounds (12) for the 14th-time this season, while chipping in nine points.
Layshia Clarendon (Jr./G)
- Scored a team high 17 points, her 24th double-figure scoring output this season, and also tallied four assists and three steals.
