The University of Notre Dame softball team finished the adidas Golden Panther Invitational Tournament in Miami, Fla., with a 3-1 record, after bracket play was rained out on Sunday. The Irish defeated Buffalo (1-0), FIU (5-0), Memphis (4-1) and dropped a rematch with FIU 5-4 on Saturday evening.

The Irish are now 5-4 on the season. Senior pitcher Heather Booth was named the MVP of the abbreviated tournament, earning two victories while allowing one run and striking out 22 batters in 15 innings. Senior Sara Schoonaert and junior Stephanie Brown were also named to the all-tournament team.

Notre Dame will return to action next weekend in Oklahoma, taking part in a three-day tournament at Tulsa.
