NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame-Purdue baseball game scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, at Eck Stadium has been rained out. The Irish will attempt to add a makeup game to round out the 56-game regular season schedule (opponent and date will be announced later, if a game can be found during the final weeks of the season).
This marks the third time in the last four years – at three different sites – that an ND-Purdue baseball game has been wiped out due to weather. The 2001 meeting slated for South Bend’s minor-league Coveleski Stadium was called off due to weather while the 2002 game was not played because Purdue’s conference series with Indiana that season rolled over to Monday and Tuesday (unlike the BIG EAST, the Big Ten is not limited to just one makeup day).
Notre Dame defeated Purdue in 2003, in an 8-5 game at Eck Stadium.
