Ricciardelli Named ACC Co-Defensive Player Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Notre Dame senior goalkeeper Thomas Ricciardelli was named the ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, following the 9-8 win over previously unbeaten Ohio State on Saturday.

Ricciardelli had his best performance of the season in the road win, posting a season-high 14 saves while allowing just eight goals. Ricciardelli and the Irish defense held the Buckeyes to a season-low eight goals, marking the first time they have been held to single digits all spring.

Ricciardelli made his final save of the day with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game to seal the one-goal win for Notre Dame.

The Irish are back in action at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 14, as they take on Michigan at Arlotta Stadium in a non-conference matchup. Admission to the game is free and it will be broadcast on ACCN.
