UNDERGRADUATE CAREER (at St. John’s)

  • Captain of the team. Led St. John’s in winning its first Big East title after 3 years(2019)
  • Highest ITA singles ranking of 40 (February 2020). UTR 13.35. Second All-Team singles (2019)
  • Official sparing partner at the US open 2019. Singles record 7-1 at number 1 position
  • ITA scholar-athlete 2018-2021

As A Junior (2019-20): Finished 16-4 in singles play (7-1 in spring) … Was a dominant force on the No. 1 court where he went 7-1 … Defeated two ranked opponents (No. 32 Gui Osorio of San Diego and No. 36 Filip Malbasic of Arizona) … Became the second Johnnie in program history to reach the Main Draw of the ITA All-American Championships … Reached the second round of the Oracle ITA Masters … Became the highest ranked player in program history when he was tabbed No. 40 in the ITA Rankings (Feb. 5) … Finished 10-4 in doubles play this season (7-1 with Udayan Bhakar as his partner).

As A Sophomore (2018-19): 2019 All-BIG EAST Second Team selection … Finished 13-3 in singles play during the spring season … Was a dominant force on the No. 3 court where he went 9-0 … Went 10-straight singles matches without a loss … Completed the spring season with a doubles record of 6-9 … St. John’s gained its first point of the BIG EAST Championship match when he defeated Luis Heredia Gomez in straight-sets, 7-5, 6-2.

Honors: Academic All-Mountain West (2018); Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2018); ITA Scholar-Athlete (2018); USU Whitesides Scholar-Athlete (2018).

Freshman Year at Utah State: Recorded an overall 22-8 mark in singles, including 10-2 in dual match play at the Nos. 4 through 6 spots … Went undefeated in Mountain West singles play with a 3-0 mark … Closed the season with an eight-match winning streak … Recorded the Aggies’ only point in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against No. 8 TCU after defeating Eduardo Roldan at the No. 5 spot (5/12/18) … Provided the match-clinching point against Idaho State (1/13/18) … Posted a 13-10 record in doubles, including 7-6 in dual match play … Competed with freshman Felipe Acosta (13-8), freshman Valdemar Holm (0-1) and junior Austin Bass (0-1) … Earned academic all-Mountain West honors and was named a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete, ITA Scholar-Athlete and a Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete.
