AS A JUNIOR: All-ACC Rowing Academic Team selection … made Head of the Charles debut with the first Notre Dame championship eight entry at the 50th edition of the regatta, placing 16th with a time of 17:18.707 … raced with the first varsity eight throughout the spring slate … logged a pair of runner-up results while claiming a heat victory in a time of 5:56.767 during the second session of the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational … after finishing as runner-up to No. 1 Ohio State (6:29.48), downed No. RV Michigan State in 6:27.36 for a heat win at the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual in Columbus, Ohio … recorded two second place finishes at the Lake Natoma Invitational, clocking fastest time of the weekend (6:33.70) against No. 3 California and Rhode Island … runner-up during Friday night heat (6:51.50) at the Dale England Cup … placed second in the first varsity eight grand final (6:28.60) behind eventual team champion Virginia at the ACC Championship … finished in 17th place overall at the NCAA Championship after crossing the finish line in 6:44.901 of the first varsity eight C final.
AS A SOPHOMORE: 2014 CRCA National- Scholar Athlete … rowed with the second varsity eight during sophomore season … won first race at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational in 6:37.700 before finishing second behind ACC foe Virginia in 6:42.513 … came back to win final race against fellow ACC member Duke in 6:48.700 to close the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite … finished behind West Coast foes Southern California, Stanford, and California at the Lake Natoma Invitational … fell behind eventual NCAA team champion Ohio State in the first race of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (6:32.06) … pulled in ahead of Indiana and Alabama in the first two races of the Dale England Cup … closed the weekend with a win over Rhode Island, pulling in with a 6:37.80 clip to help Notre Dame to its second straight Dale England Cup team championship … the second eight finished first in preliminary heat two at the ACC Championship with a 6:50.00 readout … came in third place in the ACC grand final race with a time of 6:44.70 … rowed to a third place finish (6:39.603) in the preliminary heat of the NCAA Championship … claimed the top spot in the repechage heat two with a 6:36.450 finish … finished the season with a third place finish in the petite final, crossing the finish line in 7:06.847 to give the Irish second varsity eight a ninth place result overall at the NCAA Championship.
AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in several novice boats for the Irish … stroked with the first novice eight team at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, coming in second to Kansas before finishing third behind two entries from defending NCAA champion Virginia … finished the trip in first place in the third race with a time of 7:15.20 before winning the fourth race ahead of Louisville and Miami in 7:18.00 … rowed with the B team of the first novice eight at Michigan State and came in third in the morning race … in the afternoon, switched over to the second novice eight boat and crossed in second behind the host Spartan boat with an 8:08.50 mark … stayed in the second novice eight boat at the Ohio State Invitational, finishing second to Michigan in the morning and third in the afternoon behind the Wolverines and Buckeyes, setting paces of 7:57.70 and 8:07.01, respectively … pulled for the A-team novice eight boat at the fifth annual Dale England Cup, coming in first in the boat’s first two races … crossed in second behind host Indiana with a time of 8:09.8 … won grand final race in the third varsity eight boat at the BIG EAST Championship with a mark of 7:18.864.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Graduated from Herbert Henry Dow High School in 2012 … was a member of the school’s swim team, earning her varsity letter all four years … in her freshman and sophomore seasons, team went undefeated and won the Tri-Cities and Saginaw Valley Championship meet … as a junior, swim team won the Saginaw Valley Championships … swam in the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay at the state championship meet … as a senior, team posted an undefeated record and won the Tri-Cities and Saginaw Valley Championships for the sixth year in a row … as a captain, swam in the state meet in the 50 free, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay events … also played recreational soccer … was a member of Iron Sharpens Iron, a nondenominational Christian ministry group, and the society of women engineers … is the daughter of John and Carla Olson … grandfather swam at Illinois Wesleyan University … has one sister, Samantha … enrolled in the College of Engineering as a chemical engineering major.
