Two-time monogram winner for the Irish β¦ has been a key contibutor over her first two seasons and is ready to move to the next level β¦ has outstanding speed and quickness that allows her to be used as a key match-up player at midfield/defense β¦ one of Notre Dame[apos]s top defensive players β¦ has outstanding lacrosse skills and excels in the transition game β¦ has a presence on the field β¦ smart, intelligent player who puts herself in position to make plays β¦ has the ability to disrupt the opponent[apos]s offensive attack β¦ exhibits outstanding lateral quickness and the ability to catch and make plays in tight spots β¦ dangerous player who excels in the transition game β¦ one of five high school All-Americans in Notre Dame[apos]s freshman class of 2006 β¦ high school teammate of former Irish player Mary Veith at Georgetown Visitation in Washington, D.C. β¦ has played in 36 games with 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points β¦ owns 54 ground balls, 23 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Played in all 17 games, making 15 starts β¦ scored six goals and added six assists for 12 points β¦ tied for fourth on the team with 26 ground balls β¦ had nine draw controls and eight caused turnovers β¦ had 10 games with two or more ground balls, including a career-best equaling four ground-ball game against Duquesne β¦ had just three assists (vs. Stanford, Northwestern and Canisius) over the first seven games of the season before collecting a career-high three-point game (2g, 1a), including the game-winning goal in a 16-9 win over Ohio State β¦ followed up with a two-goal game in the 12-11 win over Connecticut β¦ had single-goal games in wins over Duquesne and Georgetown β¦ held scoreless in the BIG EAST Tournament loss to Georgetown.
AS A FRESHMAN: Saw action in all 19 games, making 16 starts β¦ had six goals with five assists for 11 points β¦ grabbed 28 ground balls, 14 draw controls and caused 13 turnovers β¦ had three games with two points (1g, 1a) against Lehigh, Canisius and Ohio State β¦ scored first collegiate goal in season-opening win at California β¦ also had goals against Cornell and Lehigh β¦ recorded eight games with two or more ground balls, setting career highs with four at Connecticut and Duke β¦ recorded a career-high four draw controls in win over Canisius.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Played lacrosse and field hockey at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School β¦ was a three-time Independent School League all-conference selection in lacrosse and a two-time selection in field hockey β¦ selected honorable mention All-America in her junior year (2004) and a first-team All-American as a senior (2005) in lacrosse β¦ was a two-time member of high school Tewaaraton Team β¦ had 36 goals and 20 assists for 56 points as a midfield/attack standout in her final high school season β¦ in final three high school seasons, had 90 goals and 49 assists for 139 points β¦ was team captain in both lacrosse and field hockey as a senior β¦ played in the Vail Shootout Tournament in 2004 and participated in the Hot Shots Camp in `03-[apos]04 β¦ participated in U.S. Lacrosse Association[apos]s national tournament for Mid-Atlantic 4 (2003) and Mid-Atlantic 2 (2004) member of Mid-Atlantic Black squad in senior division in 2005 β¦ full name is Alicia Pownall Billings β¦ daughter of Eric and Marianne Billings β¦ has three older brothers β¦ born Nov. 17, 1986, in Potomac, Md. β¦ History major in the College of Arts and Letters.
