AS A SENIOR (2015-16): Backstroker who saw action primarily in fall semester … began the year at Dennis Stark Relays, finishing second in 300 back relay (59.45 split), third in 400 IM relay (1:03.83 split), sixth in 200 medley relay (28.83 leadoff split) and exhibitioning with 400 medley relay (59.89 leadoff split) … at Florida Gulf Coast, earned two sixth-place finishes in the 200 back (2:07.76) and 200 medley relay (28.36 leadoff split) … versus Michigan State, took fifth with 400 medley relay (58.81 leadoff split) … at Purdue against the Boilermakers and Ohio State, finished in 59.29 in 100 back and 2:06.37 in 200 back … at Virginia Tech, highest finish came in seventh place in 200 back (2:06.38) and clocked in at 59.64 in 100 back and 4:40.20 in 400 IM … swam at Purdue Invitational, entering the water in the 200 IM (2:08.79), 400 IM (4:32.46 finals, 4:35.93 prelims), 100 back (57.69 finals, 57.81 prelims) and 200 back (2:03.45 finals, 2:04.86 prelims) in addition to swimming backstroke leg of 400 medley relay (57.96 leadoff split).

AS A JUNIOR (2014-15): Continued efforts in the back, fly and IM events … opened year by helping the 200 medley relay team (1:50.06) take second against Michigan State … best times of the year all came at the Texas Invitational in December … these included 57.08 in the 100 back, 2:00.65 in the 200 back, 57.76 in the 100 fly, 2:06.61 in the 200 back, 2:08.50 in the 200 IM and 4:30.39 in the 400 IM … competed at the ACC Championships … named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll … earned a monogram.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013-14): Competed in free, back, fly, IM and medley and free relay events throughout season … finished eighth and set a career-best mark in the 200 back (1:59.88) at the Hawkeye Invitational … swam a career-best time in the 100 back (57.17) in the prelims at the Hawkeye Invitational … competed in the 200 back, 200 IM and the 400 IM at the ACC Championships, taking 23rd in the 400 IM (4:26.21) … selected to the ACC Academic Honor Roll … earned a monogram.

AS A FRESHMAN (2012-13): Saw action in free, back, fly and IM during first season with the Irish … secured fourth place against Purdue in 200 back (2:06.21).

PREP & PERSONAL: Graduated from Ensworth (Tenn.) in the spring of 2012 … selected as an National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) All-American following her junior and senior years … awarded first-team all-region honors on three occasions … participated in the 2012 USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials as a member of the Nashville Aquatic Club … finished the 200m backstroke in 2:17.94 … national qualifier in the 100 and 200 back … junior national qualifier in the 100 and 200 back, 200 fly and 400 IM … scholastic All-American as a junior … volunteered as a tutor for Project S.E.E. since third grade … full name is Anna Leigh Grainger … born in Nashville, Tennessee to Bill and Kathy Grainger … has one older sister, Lizz, who was a swimmer at Tufts University and finished up in 2014 … graduated from the University with a degree in accounting from the Mendoza College of Business.
