AS A SENIOR:Competed in several free and fly events, as well as relays… clinched a first place win at the Shamrock Invitational as the second leg in 800 free relay (6:35.03)… placed seventh as the third leg in 400 free relay at the same invitational (3:07.03)… had two third place finishes against Cleveland State… 100 back (53.26)… first leg of the 200 free relay team (1:25.59)… had 5 top-10 finishes in 200 fly, including sixth in the finals of the Hawkeye Invitational (1:55.23)… swam to 3 top-10 finishes in 100 fly with his best time being against Wisconsin, where he placed 10th (51.78)… swam to 17th in 500 free finals at the Hawkeye Invitational after placing 26th in the prelims (4:31.64)… at the same invitational, placed in 10th as the first leg in the 400 free relay (3:06.68)… swam as the third leg in both the 200 and 400 medley relays against Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh, placing fifth (1:35.43) and sixth (3:26.53), respectively.

AS A JUNIOR: Swam a mix of free and fly events for the Irish … in lone outing in 50 free, placed sixth (21.97) against Louisville … at Hawkeye Invitational, touched the wall in 4:33.83 in 500 free … before finishing eighth in 100 fly (49.41) at Hawkeye Invite, set career best in preliminary heat with 49.20 mark … also came in ninth in 200 fly (1:48.49) at Hawkeye meet … at Shamrock Invite, placed sixth in 100 fly (49.65) and second in 200 fly (1:49.57) … came in fourth in 100 fly at back-to-back meets, first against Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech (51.72) then versus Wisconsin (52.22) the following week … touched the wall in 52.26 in 100 fly, good for first place against Michigan State and Virginia … came in third against Cleveland State in 100 free (46.28) at last home meet of the year.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Posted a career-best time of 1:47.91 in the 200 fly at the BIG EAST Championships … was part of the 400 medley relay team who took home a fifth-place finish at the Shamrock Invitational … also participated in the 400 free relay, placing fifth, and the 200 free relay placing fourth at the same meet … swam in a dual meet with Cleveland State, earning a third-place finish as part of the 200 medley relay team … individually swam to a fourth-place finish in the 100 fly (51.66) against Cleveland State … BIG EAST Academic All-Star … earned a monogram.

AS A FRESHMAN: Specialized in both lengths of butterfly as well as middle-distance freestyle … swam three events at the BIG EAST Championships … set career-bests in the 200 fly (1:49.29) and 100 fly (49.41) at the meet … also participated in the 500 free (4:35.83) … season-best in the 500 free came at the Hawkeye Invitational (4:33.86) … saw dual meet action during the season against Pittsburgh, Louisville, Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue, and the quad meet against Michigan, Oakland, and TCU … earned a monogram.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Led Shady Side (Pa.) to the state title as a senior … four-time letterwinner in swimming while earning three letters as a middle distance runner on the track squad … three-time regional champion … two-time team captain and All-American … Junior National qualifier in 2010 and 2011 … holds team records in the 200 medley relay, 400 free relay and 100 fly … active with student council (president) and chamber choir in high school … Yale Award of Pittsburgh … full name is Broderick Dunn Kelley … son of Joseph and Karen Kelley … has two siblings, Caitlin and Sean … Caitlin graduated from Notre Dame in 2011 … graduated in May from the College of Engineering, majoring in civil engineering.
