BEFORE NOTRE DAME – MARSHALL

R-SENIOR SEASON (2020): Started 9-of-10 games for the Thundering Herd in 2020. He and the offensive line paved the way for Marshall to outrush their opponents in 7-of-10 games and outpass opponents in six. The Herd also won time of possession in six games in 2020. In addition to his 2020 All-America honors, Madden was named first-team All-Conference USA.

R-JUNIOR SEASON (2019): Breakout player on the offensive side of the ball … One of two offensive linemen to earn All-Conference USA honors, earning a spot on the league’s second team … Appeared in all 13 games, starting all of them … Has now started 22 consecutive games … Part of an offensive line that blocked for a running game that finished second in Conference USA in rushing yards and rushing yards per game … Honored at the team’s end-of-season banquet with the Offensive Gridiron Gladiator Award, an honor given by the coaching staff to the player who is relentless and gives his everything all of the time.

R-SOPHOMORE SEASON (2018): Appeared in all 13 games, but was forced into a starting role with the injury to fellow sophomore Alex Mollette … Nicknamed “Dump Truck,” the bruising lineman started the final nine games of the season at right guard.

R-FRESHMAN SEASON (2017): Saw action in all 13 games.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2016): Redshirted.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Born Dec. 23, 1996 … Played offensive and defensive line for Minford … Was named All-Ohio twice … Played in the North-South All-Star Classic … Holds the school’s second-best mark in the shot put with a throw of 48 feet, 10-and-a-half inches as well as the program’s third-best showing in the discus with a throw of 130 feet, one inch.
